Hello,
I didn’t get my access code to the Realize mySucess website. Did I overlock it or do I have to contact the office to get one? Thanks
Hi,
I am preping for the rue-n-y procedure and am on the hi protein liquid diet. Why is it necessary to consume only liquids? Why can you not eat things like vegetables and fruits that have no fat?
Hi, sorry it has taken so long to respond. If you have not received an access code to Realize mySuccess please contact the office (713) 493-7700 and they will be more than happy to help! Thank you, Gina Ciolli Program Director
In order to reduce the size of the liver before surgery, it’s important to limit not just fat, but carbohydrates and total calories as well. Eating fruits and vegetables provides carbohydrates in the diet so that the body doesn’t need to get them from the liver.
It takes planning to get through the holidays without giving in or giving up. Enjoy your weekend, but don’t abandon reason. Here’s a good tip: Offer to bring food to the party, picnic, or gathering so that you’ll know you have something appropriate to eat. If you do get off course, don’t wait until Monday (or later) to get right back on track.
Offer to be the designated driver and save calories. Even more important: you save lives.
I need to change my eating habits. I am considering dieting. Mostly to be healthier and to lose the weight I gained from my pregnancy. Low carb, high carb, no carb, high protein, I am lost. My parents didn’t really eat healthy, so I didn’t. My question is would seeing a nutritionist be beneficial for my situation? I really want to set a good example to my son to eat healthy.
It seems we are bombarded with conflicting recommendations about what and how we should eat. With all that advice, some good and some bad, how do you decide what to do? A dietitian is a trained, credentialed medical professional who can provide specific nutrition recommendations for your situation. For example, you may want to see a dietitian after bariatric surgery to help you achieve maximum weight loss or you may have questions about how to encourage your family to make good food choices. It’s important that bariatric patients see a dietitian who specializes in or is familiar with appropriate recommendations for weight loss surgery patients. If you’re a patient at TLC, I encourage you to call our office to make an individual counseling appointment with our dietitian. Best wishes!
